My journey as an Intern

My journey as an Intern

From Intern to Assessment Ace: My Journey in the Trenches of HR Development

For a new intern, the HR field can be very challenging. When I first set foot in a consultancy firm such as Assessment and Development (A&D) Center, the feeling that I have was one of a small screw which was jammed into a perfectly-working gearbox. Change, however, I am happy to say, has been dramatically swift and earth-shaking, for I have gained a wealth of knowledge and a deep respect for talent evaluation and development.

Learning from the Masters: Mentorship and Growth

First of all, as a coordinator, I was taught the operations of A&D Centers essential for the success of any business. They were not just my colleagues, but they were mentors who led me through psychometric testing, case study analysis, and report generation, and thus, they transformed the tasks into strategic learning opportunities.

Beyond the Internship: Certification Courses and Upskilling

The company directed my growth by enabling me to undergo competency mapping, behaviour tests, and HR analytics, besides providing certification courses. These classes gave me a better understanding and the tools I needed to make a significant contribution.

The Unsung Heroes: The Power of Collaboration

Working with fellow interns, a collaborative structure emerged and we were more engaged in the exchange and celebration of our accomplishments. Underlying the success that we had, this was a team that embodied the desirable features of respect among peers in the workplace.

From Intern to Invaluable: Witnessing the Impact

Experiencing the change in our work, we gave life to designing assessment exercises to drawings, was a great keep. There was a standout task that comprised creating a comprehensive assessment framework, an act that I saw the value in partnering with my colleagues and how I could solve problems with them which was not customary.

The Internship Isn't the Finish Line, It's the Starting Block

Five months in HR development makes me a changed person. I have acquired a stronger understanding of personnel management, the effectiveness of A&D Centers, and the significance of collaboration and mentoring. My desire to keep learning and growing in this ever-evolving subject has been sparked by this course of study. By overcoming misunderstandings or mistakes from time to time, I regard failures as an inseparable part of success. This undertaking has given me a proper perspective to look at refusals as the building blocks as I strive to constantly learn and make my work better.
